Location

Sanibel one way, Fort Myers the other

Estero Island sits between the shelling beaches of Sanibel and the restaurants and airport of Fort Myers, so a week here can be entirely still or entirely full. We have written up both areas properly rather than listing attractions. Two bridges reach the island and there is no third: the Matanzas Pass Bridge at the north end, which has carried San Carlos Boulevard since 1979 and stands as a 65-foot fixed span so the shrimp boats can pass beneath it, and the Big Carlos Bridge at the south end, which crosses to Bonita Springs. Once you are on, Estero Boulevard is the island’s only through road — which is worth knowing on a Saturday, and worth knowing if you are towing anything.

House rules

Check-in from 3:00 pm, check-out by 10:00 am. Up to 6 guests. Minimum stay 30 nights. The person booking must be 21 or over. No smoking. No pets. Children and infants are welcome. It is not wheelchair accessible. These are the rules the owners keep in their booking system, and the same ones the checkout applies. Anything not listed here — quiet hours, parking, the dock — ask us and we will tell you what actually applies.

Cancellation policy

Cancel within 24 hours after booking and you get a full refund — 100% of what you paid. For a cancellation after that, ask us before you book and we will tell you exactly what applies to your dates rather than leave you to guess at it.

Questions people ask

Is Fort Myers Beach open, and what is the island like after Hurricane Ian?

Hurricane Ian came ashore near Fort Myers Beach on 28 September 2022 and caused severe damage on Estero Island, which has been rebuilding since. We keep a dated status note on this page rather than a general reassurance, because the honest answer changes month to month and a stale description would be worse than none. Write to us before you book and we will tell you what the building and the surrounding streets are actually like that week, and point you to the Town of Fort Myers Beach for official information.

How far is the condo from the beach?

We do not have that in a form we are willing to publish, and we would rather say so than write “steps from the beach” like every other listing on this island. What we can tell you from the photographs is that the unit is bay-side and on a high floor: every window looks out over Estero Bay, the mangrove islands and the building’s own covered boat slips, not at the Gulf. For the walk to the sand — how far it is and whether it crosses Estero Boulevard — ask us before you book and you will get what has actually been confirmed rather than a guess.

How many people does the condo sleep?

Six guests, in two bedrooms with two bathrooms. Those are the numbers our booking system enforces, so a group of six books without a conversation and a seventh guest will not go through at checkout. Every room in the unit is photographed on this page, so you can see how the six fit before you book.

Is there parking, and is there an elevator?

Parking is free, and it is listed with the unit’s amenities on this page. The unit is not wheelchair accessible. It is on a high floor, so if the elevator matters for your group, ask us before you book — we would rather tell you now than have you find out on arrival.

Why would we stay here instead of one of your Cape Coral houses?

Because this is a different trip. The Cape Coral houses are for boats, big groups and days spent in the pool and on the dock; the Fort Myers Beach condo is for the week where you sit on a screened lanai above the bay, cook breakfast, and drive nowhere. All three are owner-managed by Stephanie and Joe DeLisle, so you can describe your trip to one person and be told which of the three actually fits.

A quiet week, if you want one

Tell us when, and how many of you, and we will come back with a rate and an honest description of the island that week.
